CWISH in collaboration with the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and UNICEF has been working for strengthening the child protection system specially focused to eliminate child labor as envisioned by child-friendly local governance in 14 municipalities of 6 provinces of Nepal since December 2016. The project entitled, "Towards enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of local bodies in strengthening Local Child Protection System" is being implemented to achieve the functional child protection mechanism and plans through the engagement of stakeholders, strengthened the capacity of stakeholders (Municipality, Local CSO, Local Level Protection Mechanism, Police, Labour Inspector, Social Mobilizer, Child Club Network) to enhance protective environment for children and ensured the changes in actions (monitoring, case management and BCC actions) to enhance the rescue, rehab and reintegration of the child labour into their families. CWISH has established coordination and strong partnership with municipalities for this project at the local level and planning to empower the local level CSO to work with their enhanced knowledge and skills for the child protection issues and concerns.
