CWISH has been working in Panauti Municipality to establish and functionalize Child Labour Monitoring System (CLMS) through Country Level Engagement and Assistance to Reduce (CLEAR) Child Labor II project in support of Winrock International. The project intends to establish and functionalize CLMS through a series of workshops, trainings, collaborative tool and monitoring guideline development, etc. During the project CWISH will work together with Municipality and its all 12 wards in forming Municipal and Ward Level Child Protection Committees (MLCPCs and WLCPCs) under which Child Labor Monitoring Committees (CLMCs) will also be formed.
In the CLMS plan, the project will incorporate overall CLMS structure and function. Stakeholders and their roles for CLMS will be identified and developed. The time frame for child labor monitoring will be made and resources for the sustainability of the program will be mapped out. In this way, this project envisions to monitor and reduce child labor from Panauti Municipality by developing a standardized functional system. Further, it aims to develop Panauti Municipality as a model child-friendly Municipality of Nepal and spread its good practices to other Municipalities.
