Tripartite MoU signed between Panauti Municipality, Winrock International and CWISH

On February 27, 2018 CWISH in coordination with Panauti Municipality and in support of Winrock International, organized a consultation and interaction meeting with Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Panauti Municipality, Chief Executive Officer, Senior Executive Officer, Social Development Officer, Ward chairpersons of the municipality and Executive members. The meeting was Chaired by Mayor of Panauti Municipality Mr. Bhim Neupane. During the meeting, interaction on Child Labour and need of Child Labour Monitoring System to eliminate all forms of Child labour were discussed. 

During the program, Social Development Officer of Panauti Municipaltiy Mr. Keshab Banjara shared on the progress of Panauti Municipaltiy against child labour. Team Leader of CWISH, Mr. Krishna Prasad Subedi highlighted the situation of child labour in Nepal and neighboring countries, need of its elimination and role of different stakeholders in eliminating child labor. Chairperson of CWISH, Ms. Bimala Jnawali, Country Coordinator of Winrock International, Dr. Milan Adhikari and Senior Administrative Officer of Panauti Municipality, Mr. Indra Prasad Adhikari also stressed on the need of working together against child labor and showed their commitment for the same.

With the aim of establishing and functionalizing Child Labour Monitoring System in Panauti Municipality, tripartite MoU on the project of Child Labour Monitoring System CLEAR- II was also signed. All the ward Chairpersons signed in the Commitment banner to work together to end all forms of child labor. Mayor of Panauti Municipality, Mr. Neupane expressed his gratitude for the initiation made by Winrock International and CWISH to work in Panauti Municipality to establish and functionalize Child Labour Monitoring System. He also shared that the Ward level and Municipal level monitoring team will be formed. Finally, he concluded his speech by showing commitment to work together against Child Labour and make establish Panauti as Child Friendly Municipality.
