Child labor monitoring committee formation and CLMS plan drafting workshop

On 16th and 17th of February, 2018, Two days workshop was held in Chitwan as a part of CLEAR II project funded by Winrock International and facilitated by CWISH. The major objective of the workshop was to identifying possible CLMS working committees (Ward level and Municipal level) and to discuss the policy and guidelines on child protection and child rights issues which will serve as main guiding documents for CLMS establishment. The program was chaired by Mayor of Panauti Municipality Mr. Bhim Neupane and was facilitated by Ramesh Poudel and Chandrika Khatiwada and was hosted by Social Development Officer of Panauti Municipality, Kesav Banjara.

Mayor, deputy mayor, executive members, chairpersons of all 12 wards of Panauti Municipality along with team of CWISH and Winrock International participated in the program. Altogether, 37 Participants attend the program and contributed in CLMS development process. Sharing of draft CLMS guideline and feedback collection was conducted and possible CLMS working committee was formed. In the program, Mayor Mr. Bhim Neupane, Country coordinator of WI Dr. Milan Adhikari, Chairperson of CWISH Ms. Bimala Jnawali along with other participants expressed their commitment in making Panauti as a child friendly and child labor free model Municipality through establishment and functionalization of CLMS.
